After a long day exploring the Hood River area my husband and I enjoyed tasty slices of pizza from Andrew’s Pizza and relaxed in the little dining area,. We then stepped up the ramp to watch a movie at the Starlight Theater. Movies and Pizza are a great combination. Next time we’ll enjoy dinner with the movie…..Keep up the great work!
Andrew’s Pizza has the best gourmet pizza toppings in town by far. There are so many choices you can choose from. My favorite is the BBQ chicken on Herb crust. You can choose between regular crust, wheat, or herb. The people in front of me divided their pizza into quarters, creating different toppings for each quarter which I thought was pretty cool. A little expensive to order a gourmet pizza but well worth the money.
Andrew’s Pizza has by far the best pizza in town. My husband and I visit every time we visit Hood River. My favorite thing about Andrew’s is their cold, cold beer glasses and their beer choices. Way to keep it local. Their salads are made right in front of you, too many choices of slices to choose a fav, and I could go on for days about their dessert selection. Great location as well.
The pizza has big New York Style slices with a fairly thin crust. They always have the basic pizzas (pepperoni, hawaiian, sausage, veggie) up in the window for purchase by the slice, but the gourmet pizzas are the best. Generally you have to order a whole pie to get something like Thai Peanut Chicken (the best by far) but every once in awhile they’ll have one available for slices.
Also, they have 2 sizes, Large and Family. It should be more accurately labeled as Medium and Large, so if you want a bigger pie, get the family sized. It is the equivalent of any other pizza joint’s Large.
The other great thing about this place is that it has a two screen pub-theater in it as well. you can take your pizza and beer into the movie with you! If you order something that will take them a little while to make, they will bring it for you when it’s ready!
Stop every time we travel through Hood River. I watched them make my calzone from scratch then cook it till it was golden brown.. Its not a pizza pocket tossed in the microwave, its a hard tossed shell with gobs of filling. I had a hard time eating it all it was sooo good.
I have to wait in line almost every time I come as they are always busy but it is soo worth the wait.
There is almost no room for dessert and turns out they also make home baked treats… okay I’m hungry after thinking of Andrew’s![]()
0-KAY!!!!! Best pizza in the world and delectable home-baked cakes. Very fine salads too…
My husband and I were recently in Hood River on vacation and discovered Andrew’s Pizza and Starlight theater.
We loved the idea of taking pizza and wine into the movie theater! We were in the smaller theater, so did not have tables at all. But a chair for the pizza worked! This pizza was AWESOME!!
I was traveling through Hood River and found this spot on Yelp. The allure of crispy-crusted pizza mentioned in other reviews drew me in for lunch.
I had planned to get a made-to-order pizza, but the selection was a bit overwhelming (and I was very hungry), so I decided to get several varieties of already-prepared slices. The counter person warmed the slices in the oven so they were almost like fresh-baked– nice and crispy in the middle with a slightly chewy edge, just the right amount of toppings so that they crust didn’t get soggy, and just the right amount of sauce/cheese so that the toppings weren’t overshadowed.
The ambiance was comfortably informal; they have both booths and long tables with bench seating. I enjoyed people watching (the huge windows look out on the busy main street of Hood River) as I ate the great pizza.
The soft drinks are provided via a self-serve fountain (making for easy/quick refills); there are stacks of lids near the fountain (making for easy conversion of your in-house beverage container to a to-go cup).
I look forward to stopping on my next trip along the Columbia River corridor.
A happy little discovery as we were wandering through town after exiting the interstate with hunger pangs.
The thin crust is crispy — just the way I like it — and the slices are huge. Service was fast and friendly.
Ordered a ginger cookie out of the display case on impulse, and thought it was great, too.
I’ll be back!
The pizza was good and flavorful. Service was quick and helpful
Pizza when I have been there has always tasted great. There is at least 4 types to taste at a time. The selection is good. Along with the pizza is the salad and pastas. The pastas are excellent and have flavor to it. Beer is also good.
I tried Andrew’s pizza for the first time at lunch with a co-worker. It was a beautiful day in Hood River and the wall of windows were all open so it felt like we were sitting outside. This made for great atmosphere! The employees were friendly and smiling. The pizza slices were huge and thin- east coast style- and full of flavor, with lots of cheese. I’m still craving it. I’ll be back!
I enjoyed very much kicking back on a sofa with a beer and the best pizza in the area and watching a good movie. The price was affordable and the staff was most courteous.
The pizza is excellent and the fact that if you want you can take it into the movie theater makes it all the better.
